Some useless trivia you may not have known about beer and home brewing

Terry Sydes - Friday, May 27, 2011
  1. Home brewing is illegal in one US State – Alabama. However several homebrew stores operate in Alabama so I guess no one is really enforcing this preposterous archaic legislation!
  2. Home brewing is sometimes referred to as “craft brewing”.
  3. In Japan, microbrews are known as Ji Bīru or “local beer”.
  4. Probably the most famous book of its kind, “the World Guide to Beer” was written by Michael Jackson (that’s culinary writer and critic Michael Jackson, not the dead one who could sing good)
  5. Tossing salted peanuts in a glass of beer makes the peanuts dance, while bringing lots of beer to a party makes everyone dance.
  6. Really really cool people brew their own beer. Bringing your home brew to parties is the best known way to make friends!
