A roasted, bitter, mocha flavor and aroma. Used almost exclusively in Stouts and beers such as Dunkelweizen. In general, most Stout type beers have a roasted black malt content ranging from 5 to 10%. Dark Ales can be made with a content as low as 3 to 4%.
